Best way to find a job once A+ n+ is gained?

Sorry if my questions seem a bit naive its just im not too sure how the industry works, I mean I would be quite surprised if my local job center had any vacancies for jobs where the prerequisite was to have a A+ and N+ .
What im asking really is where should I be looking once these certs have been gained?

thx

Well I dont know where you are based so that may influence things. When I started looking for my first job in IT I only had a degree in comp science. I just applied to various jobs as I was not sure what I wanted to do. I ended up on a servicedesk, from what I have seen this seems to be an easish way into IT as it does not require too many IT skills at first, plus u do get to learn a lot when you work there. The only downside to this is the pay and potential progression from the role.

That mean you're in the UK? Usually you'll be looking for an entry level job (Helpdesk or Technician) and there probably won't be much in the way of pre-requisites. The Network+ and A+ will be advantageous in this case to show you've got some experience/knowledge in the field. If you ARE in the UK then I suggest you also bone up on what CompTIA is all about and be ready to explain that - I very nearly didn't get my last job because the interviewers weren't in the field and thought CompTIA was one of the tinpot companies... the tide soon shifted once I threw in words like "conglomerate" and "Microsoft are members"!!

Check out the job ads for ICT Technicians at schools - they invariably don't ask for much in the way of certification/experience. My first job was that way and I nailed it on the strength of just holding the A+ and studying towards the Network+ (and I ended up running the network as the "proper" Network Manager had no competent knowledge and held only qualifications in CLAIT, IBT 3 and a City and Guilds in electronics!)

As stated elsewhere it's always the experience that's the main thing - try to get as much as possible any which way you can. Volunteer to look after a charities/small schools network and/or machines. Do as many repairs for friends, family and colleagues that you can possibly fit in. And most of all add it to your CV.

The IP-address points to a provider in the UK, so I think you guys can answer his question better than I can.
