Microsoft Outlook 2007 standard edition

Hi Everyone !

I am facing this issue onto an enterprise, Recently we have upgraded our Microsoft Office version from office 2000 to office 2007 Standard edition. Now the issue we are facing is most of the user has not able to sent & receive mails properly, Even most of the time system prompt for user name & password despite we hv selected remember password option at the time of outlook configuration on user's machine. Moreoften, User not able to receive mail however, they click on sent & receive option & even same get completed too

I would also like to brief a bit about our server, Its Exchange Server 2007.

Please share your comments to get the issue fixed.

Re: Microsoft Outlook 2007 standard edition

Does everything work properly when your users are using Outlook Web Access instead of Outlook 2007?

Out of curiosity, on the Outlook 2007 client itself; verify that the Autodiscover configuration service is working by holding down the ctrl key and right clicking the Outlook system tray icon and selecting "Test E-mail Auto-Configuration". It will give you some info on if Outlook can connect to various systems.

On that same menu, you can use the Connections selection to see which directory and mailstore you are connected with. Do you have good connectivity to both?

Also, to specifically log transport issues, you can enable logging(KB300479):

On the Tools menu, click Options.
Click the Other tab
Click the Advanced Options button
Click to select the Enable mail logging (troubleshooting) check box.
Click OK to save the setting, and then return to the main Options screen
Click OK.
Quit and restart Outlook.

On Microsoft Windows XP, and Microsoft Windows 2000:
C:\Documents and Settings\<logon name>\Local Settings\temp\OPMLOG.LOG

Not sure about where it will be on Vista or W7, just search for opmlog.log if it's not in that location.

Oh, and might want to turn off cache mode if you are using it, at least while you are troubleshooting. These steps should give you a good idea of what is going on.
