Limitations on Microsoft's Discount Voucher Promotion
I have posted a few times about the discount vouchers that Microsoft is offering through Prometric. The current promotion is offering exam vouchers at 55% off, or $60 USD and includes a second shot; this promo is through the end of September. It is a very good offer that I have used to pass 290 and 291. The promo is geared towards students as the stipulations require that you provide a student ID at the testing center (although I have not had to do this, even though I do have a valid student ID). Exams are from the 072 series instead of the 070 series, but they are the same tests.
In any event, I was attempting to schedule 293 for early this coming week and the Prometric representative could not find the exam. After further investigation, I found out that the promotion is geared toward more entry level certifications. Exams included are (for the context of this discussion):
MCSA:
270
284
290
291
299
680
In addition, they include nearly all of the exams that you may wish to take for MCITP, including the MCSE to MCITP Enterprise Administrator upgrade exam, but it does exclude the PRO Enterprise Administrator exam itself.
Hopefully no one else gets this shock. The voucher also includes the 073 series, but these do not include the free second shot. There may also be additional restrictions on the 073 series. If anyone has any insight into the 073 series, that would be great. I know that it is supposed to be limited to IT Academy students. It does include the excluded in the 072 series.
